Detailed Description

Abstract base class for long running worker threads.

The BaseThread class provides a foundation for implementing service or clinical threads. Each thread runs continuously between calls to Start() and Stop(), executing a setup routine once and then repeatedly calling Step() until a stop is requested. Derived classes implement the virtual Setup, Step and Exit hooks to provide their behavior.
